Painting

I began “painting” painting, on canvases, very messily on the kitchen table when I was 20. Up until then I was always messing with colours and designs on paper and notepads. Somehow the canvas made it more of a statement… “I AM doing this”. I was afraid but also so curious to see what might come. The two resulting paintings from that first session were given to my big brother as a birthday gift. He promised he would beat me up if I didn’t pursue the painting further. He always wanted me to follow my passions! Thankfully his “not so gentle” nudge helped me to pick up the paint brush again. Following too much time in front of a computer screen in college and then a subsequent life changing 6 months of travel to latin america I was overcome with the need to paint. Here are some of my paintings from the last 10 years. They have all found homes in Ireland and abroad as far a field as America, Canada, and Australia. I have enjoyed several solo and group exhibitions in Limerick and Dublin.
